I am very happy with my solar 2000. I had many questions and they answered all of them. The quality is excellent and I would highly recommend to anyone to purchase one. I plugged it into my refrigerator and it ran it for 19 hours. I feel much better knowing if we lose power we can save our food and charge our Is electronics.
The process was very straightforward. Easy to complete DIY install. My only complaint would be the delays during permitting and utility approval. I would have preferred more communications during the delays to make me feel more comfortable. Also it would have been nice to allow me to access the project status with the utility company. Otherwise I'm very happy. The equipment is top-of-the-line.
I really have not been able to use my solar equipment because my solar panel was lost in shipping. Everything else came very promptly, but it's over three weeks and no panel. I would have to say, the customer service reps are very responsive which is refreshing. They have continued investigating my lost equipment and have ensured me a replacement is on the way. The company seems to be very credible and that is a breath of fresh air in today's business environment.
My experience with Project Solar was ok
At best. Pricing was great, delivery of products was great. Installation was a slight problem, didn’t show up when they were supposed to, didn’t bring all the supplies/parts they needed and then didn’t come back to finish the job. Project Solar finally got someone else to come finish the install and configure the system. Worked great for about 3 months and then 13 of 26 panels quit producing. Sent them a email because no one will answer their phone,if you can find a number, and they don’t call back. A Maintenance Specialist is supposed to call. No support after the sale.
I installed the system myself and when I needed help Project Solar was there to answer questions. I’ve had the system for 18 months and by the end of 2024 the system will have paid for itself. Much better than any other provider I talked to.
UPDATE: 9-26-2023
My issue with half my panels was finally resolved. It took about 1.5 months of waiting. The main issue was a lack of acknowledgement and communication on Project Solar’s part. I understand that they are probably understaffed due to the fact that they are not a high overhead company that passes huge savings on to the customers. They have resolved the issue and are refunding me the energy costs that were incurred due to only half of my panels working (it was a loose connection).
They told me that they are very aware of the customer communication issues and are changing the way they are handling customer support. I would go with them again as they have the best price and their equipment is the same or better quality compared to the high cost companies.
Given the price and low pressure sales, I was initially happy with Project Solar. 7 months later, I feel abandoned from zero support. Half of my panels are not working, but I’ve gotten nothing but a run around if I’ve gotten any response at all. I feel they are just stringing me along with a promise of contacting a repair company. This has been going on for over a month. Meanwhile, I’m sure I’ll be getting an Edison bill. What good is a 25 year warranty if it’s not honoured. I see a class action suit soon.
For some reason my previous review was erased, but I liked them for 3 reasons.
1) Price. They passed down an industry leading price to the customer. Local costs were $15,000 more, so it was either Project Solar or Tesla. I wanted Enphase equipment, and I could actually get on the phone with my project manager at anytime, so it was an easy decision.
2) Customization. Local companies kept quoting me these tiny systems saying it would offset my electricity by 100%. But solar panels degrade, and usage is only going up. My project manager was fine with me increasing the size from the initial design and choosing panel location as well (they still ran software to ensure it was ideal production). They also let me speak to an engineer to ensure all loads I wanted to be backed up could be covered by the batteries. That level of communication was non-existent with local companies, as I could only communicate with reps that knew little about the system details.
3) While there were some delays and issues, they always resolved them. So far no issues with the system, and my whole house switched over to the batteries during the storm power outages as expected.
Start to finish this project could not have been better. Everything went smoothly and in a timely manner. The install was completed to my specifications with an attic run and inverter in the garage for aclean look oitsidee the house. The price was perfect, too. The installation crew was, quick, friendly, and detail oriented, to the point of offering to repaint dry wall inthe garage and stucco outside. If you are thinking of going solar you would be wise to go with Project Solar, I'm a happy customer.
